Chris Koon Interview!

I got the chance to interview a great new artist named Chris Koon! You can check out the full interview below. πŸ™‚

1. Where do you hope to see yourself in 5 years?

You know – it’s funny. I’ve always been the guy to plan everything out and kind of say “by this time I wanna do this” and “by this time I wanna do that”. Being from such a small town, I’ve gotten to do so many things I never thought I’d get to do, and I think right now, I’m kind of just trying to enjoy the moment. I’ve done such a bad job of that because I’ve been too busy planning…hahaha…but now that I’m getting to live some of those dreams I never thought I’d get to live, I’m kind of just taking it day by day, and hoping that in 5 years, I’m still able to do what I’m doing and still having a good time.

2. If you could collaborate with any artist, who would it be?

I would love to collaborate with a lot of people. I’d love to work with Mandy Moore. I think she’s incredibly talented and so underrated. I’d love to write something with Graham Colton and do something with Darren Hayes. I find a lot of inspiration in collaborating with people, so any chance I have to collaborate with someone, chances are I’m going to take it.

3. What artist(s) (if any) has had the greatest influence on your music?

I’m inspired by a lot of artists – Kelly Clarkson is a big one for me – she’s so versatile. She can sing anything and make it sound incredible. Darren Hayes (formerly of Savage Garden) is a huge one. Graham Colton is way different from me stylistically, but he’s such an amazing lyricist and storyteller, so I’m a big fan of his. Shania Twain, I love. I’m kind of all over the place musically, but I think it’s just because I love and appreciate more than one style of music. Those are four big ones for me though.

4. If you could perform anywhere in the world, where would it be?

Last year, I got to host a charity event at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City, and when I walked into the venue for the first time, I literally froze because I had to stop and take it all in. I’d love to be able to go back there and do something. It was the coolest thing I’ve ever done.

5. Any messages for your present and future fans?

To the people who are supporting the music I’m making now, I hope you guys continue to love and support it, and allow me to keep making more! To everybody else, I might not know you yet, but thanks anyway! πŸ˜‰
