Emily Osment Interview!

In honor of the release of Fight or Flight, here is an interview I had recently with Emily Osment. Be sure to go pick up a copy of the CD in stores today! 🙂

1. Where did you come up with the idea for the title of the CD?
I have always been fascinated by this inborn reaction and I love the idea of not having control over for a split second. I want my music to do the same. I want to shock in a musical way.
2. What are your plans now that Hannah Montana is finished?
As soon as the show wrapped I flew to Canada and headlined the Soda Pop tour for almost two months. I love being on tour and being able to give myself fully to the music and participate in every aspect of the creative process. I plan to continue promoting my record abroad and hope to keep a steady great relationship with my fans. I have some films projects in the works that I am so excited for as well.

Fight or Flight Review

So I had the privilege of listening to Emily Osment’s debut (full-length) CD for review. Below is what I thought. Are you planning on getting a copy?

Emily Osment’s debut album will hit the airwaves with a bang. Her full length album is the kind that you keep in your car for drives with your friends or in your CD player for those times you want to go home and dance around in your room. There’s a beautiful mix of ballads like the haunting “You Get Me Through” and the story of “Marisol”. These soulful pieces mix with the fun dance beats of songs like “1-800-Clap Your Hands” and “All the Boys Want”. The first single off the CD will be “Let’s Be Friends” and there could not have been a better first choice. This song has a catchy tune and a fun concept. With lyrics like “Let’s be friends so we can make out” and “Everyone knows I’m getting my way”, this is the ideal party song. All together, the CD is worth buying. It has a perfect mix of tempos and rhythms for any of the moods you happen to be in and almost everyone has been in a situation represented in one of these songs. My recommendation? Head to the store on October 5th, 2010 and pick up a copy. 🙂
